Life is a challenge, full of joys and unhappiness and depression is but one of those challenges which we must overcome. It is all according as to how deep the depression goes. If it is very deep then one may not have the strength to overcome it. But all is not lost, for in that state there is always hope and the depressed has only to reach forward and take hold of whatever help is available to them.

Built into everyone of us is the desire for survival, and apart from love it can be the strongest emotion that we possess. Everyone needs happiness in their lives, depression takes away from us the will to rekindle that happiness which we once knew. Talking to a trusted and understanding friend is one way of overcoming. Being aware of people who are worse off than yourself is another. Most important I think is your will to overcome your situation, for where there is a will there is a way.
