Pro rata in latin means " a proportion" when it comes to salary and it says eg.16 hours per wk part time, salary £10,000 pro rata. £10,000 is what a full time person will get therefor if you are only getting 16 hours a week you will only be getting a proportion on the £10,000. so to work out what you will earn you need to know how many hours a full time person works. eg full time 37 hours 16(part time hours)/37(full time) x salary (10,000)= £4324 this is what you will earn this is a example of pro rota.
