What are the differences between ground based research methods and remote sensing research methods?
In remote sensing, aircraft or satellites provide the platforms for sensing applications. The primary difference is that in the remote sensing methods, a lot more area can becovered in a very short period of time than with ground-based methods. There are details that cannot be resolved by the remote methods that can be determined on the ground, but there are trade offs with the two methods of investigation. More and more sophisticated way of "looking" at the ground from remote platforms continue to be developed. The location of South American temples hidden in the jungle is just one example of the capability of the remote platform.

What is the difference of Spot and Landsat?
Spot and Landsat are both remote sensing patforms operating over several bands of light. Landsat is older and american and spot is younger and french they are tasked very differntly. spot has the ability to capture sterio imagery and tilt its lens' in order to capture areas it is not directly overhead from whereas Landsats instruments are fix so has a set revist time of off the top of my head i think 16 days. Landsat has a lower resolution...... this list goes on and on there completly differnt apart from the fact that there remote sensing platforms
