Known by the SEAL's as on of the "Boat Guys", an SB2 is one of the Navy's Special Boat Operators, who are part of the SWCC (Special Warfare Combat Crewmen) community. An SB2 is a Special Boat Operator 2nd Class (2nd Class Petty Officer).

SB's, like all SWCC's, are responsible for SEAL insertion and extraction where high speed boats and other watercraft are required. They are highly trained in boat operation, navigation, engineering, first aid, weapons, and pretty much anything else necessary to operate in extremely hostile environments.
