Push the needle from the inside of the coat to the outside at the place where the button wants to go. Thread the button over the needle so it is sitting on the right place in the coat. push the needle back through the button and coat making sure you go through a different hole on the button so that the button is held onto the coat. Repeat these steps many times until the button is held firmly and looks like a normal button. With the needle on the inside of the coat do a few stitches through the bunch of thread in order to stop it coming undone then cut the thread. You now have a working button!
