The Bengal tiger is a carnivore (that is why it has huge canines). It eats boars, wild oxen, monkeys and other animals. The Bengal tiger can catch big animals, but prefers killing either young or old animals because they don't run as fast.

On a documentary, a tiger emerged from the undergrowth to confront an ox with huge horns. The tiger looked at the ox and the ox looked back, as if to say, "You are joking, aren't you? Have you seen these horns?" . The tiger probably said, "Oh, yes, horns - very nice, big horns. I'll be on my way then", and trotted off. Ox was not on the menu that day. But if they get hungry enough, they might face those horns.

No Bengal Tigers eat humans. They are only carnivorous towards other animals.

Tigers are pure carnivores. They prefer hunting large ungulates such as chital, sambar, gaur, and to a small extent also barasingha, water buffalo, nilgai, serow and takin. Among the medium-sized prey species they frequently kill wild boar, and occasionally hog deer, muntjac and Gray langur. Small prey species such as porcupines, hares and peafowl are also hunted and form a very small part in their diet. Sometimes, they also prey on domestic livestock too that wander off into the jungles
