Nothing is what the Wizard does for Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz."

Specifically, the Wizard decides that he wants to go back home, in both the original 1900 book edition and the beloved 1939 film version of "The Wizard of Oz." He chooses to go back the same way he came to Oz: by hot-air balloon. He assures Dorothy Gale that she and her pet dog Toto can keep him company on the way back to Kansas, but takes off when Toto runs off and the two cannot get back into the balloon before take-off.
