Strictly speaking, bandicoots are omnivores, feeding on a variety of plants, insects and meat. They feed on insects and other small invertebrates such as earthworms, insect larvae and Spiders, and also eat plant bulbs and tubers, roots and truffle-like fungi. Sometimes they eat old, fallen fruit.
