The centromeres split. The two chromatids separate, and each chromatid becomes a new chromosome. The new chromosomes move to opposite ends of the cell. The cell stretches out as the opposite ends are pushed apart.

They are split into single chromosomes and half of them are directed to opposite sides of the cell where on each side there is a centromere.

In the anaphase the chromosome moves to their respective poles. They move in such a fashion that it appears that the centormere leading the arms of chromosomes.
