Your transmission fluid is probably leaking into your coolant
Its a thermostat in a fluid. Turn the key to RUN and youll see it light up
it looks like a radiator with coolant in! it should be red.
The transmission fluid cooled by routing it through the radiator. The fluid probably is a milky color because the radiator had failed internally allowing the coolant and transmission fluid to mix. Check the coolant and if looks milky change the radiator, coolant, and transmission fluid.
bad head gasket go to auto store borrow cooling presser check if the coolant looks like a strawberry milkshake, check the transmission fluid, the transmission oil cooler inside the radiator is bad. if the coolant looks like a chocolate milkshake, probably head gasket as said above.
No. Transmission fluid lubricates the transmission. Coolant is used by the radiator to cool the engine.
Very few cars have a low coolant light but will have a overheating light. You can be sure it will look like water or a thermometer. Why not just raise the hood and check the coolant level.
Its Like A bucket with a arrow pointing down.....Thats the low coolant light
I would think someone spilled it while adding fluid. Clean it up and keep an eye on it. Check the tranny fluid level. Are you sure it is tranny fluid? Red coolant can look like tranny fluid. Clean off the area and watch your fluid levels.
This fluid can leak from many places. Look in places where water hoses meet the engine, where the heater hoses go into the firewall, the radiator and your heater core.
The transmission fluid could be leaking into the engine coolant through the transmission cooler in the radiator. You should be able to see the transmission fluid in the engine coolant recovery tank. It will look like a oily film on top of the coolant. White smoke (steam) out of the exhaust indicates engine coolant is leaking into a cylinder. This can be a result of a blown cylinder head gasket or a cracked cylinder head. Have the engine coolant system pressure tested to detect the leak.
if it is a 96 like mine it is on the top of the coolant resovoir. it is rounnd and has an electrical connector attached to it
