In the US, when the flag is up it means there is outgoing mail in the mailbox to be picked up by the letter carrier. This alerts the letter carrier to stop at the mailbox even if s/he has no incoming mail to leave for the addressee. When you get ready to mail a letter, leave it in the mailbox and raise the flag. When the letter carrier arrives s/he will take the mail you left in the mailbox, leave any mail s/he might have for you and lower the flag. The flag can also serve as an indication the letter carrier has come and left mail, but it's generally thought inconsiderate to use it for that purpose alone because if the letter carrier has no mail for you it forces him or her to make an unnecessary stop.
Yes and yes.
Semaphore or signal flag.
Mailbox?
Yes, as long as it isn't stolen mail. No, it is illegal, even to place a flyer on the flag. The mailbox is US Government property.
Yes. It is a Federal offence. But--it is never enforced.
yes put the flag up so he knows its there
It depends what country you are in.In some US states you can. Put the stamped letters into your mailbox and make sure the "flag" is up to signal the mailman.Check with your local post office to be sure.
To redirect an email is to have it "forwarded" in a way, but not entirely...For example, let's say mailbox A sends and email to mailbox B. You can redirect any messages that go to mailbox B to be redirected automatically to mailbox C. When an email is sent to mailbox B, it will automatically be re-directed to mailbox Z, and the sender will still show as mailbox A, without involving mailbox B when mailbox Zwants to reply to or forward the message.
yes, just put the red flag up on your mailbox.this was done by xrichard5 at runescape.com
what does flag mean on aol?
"A mailbox" fits. I don't know if it's what the person who invented the riddle had in mind or not.
I found it! It is on page 10, on the pink valentine card with the polka dot bird :) On the bottom of that card
