750 is the marking for 18 KT Gold, and most likely FB is the hallmark of Franz Breuning. Is it a modern looking piece?
It probably means that you have a spoon with a maker's hallmark on it. I'm not familiar with that particular hallmark but it's likely silver or at least sliver plated.
Metal that is plated in gold can not have the stamp.
A1 is a British electroplating hallmark and means superior quality. As this hallmark is for silver pieces and there is no mark allowed for gold plaiting it is most likely that you have a high quality silver plated piece that was further plated with gold. This is allowed under British law.
Electro-plated nickel silver
No. It may say '18k plated', but will never carry a hallmark or mark of fineness.
JSS Is the makers mark ( I have yet to find who this is) E.P. Stands for Electro Plated often stamped E.P.N.S. Electro Plated Nickel Silver. Hope this helps.
Not necessarily, the piece must have 18k or 750 stamped inorder for it to be solid gold. However, many smaller pieces may not have a hallmark but still test 18k
18K gold On gold jewelry, i believe that the mark 750 means that out of 1000 parts, 750 of them are pure gold leaving 250 of them as various alloys and reducing the purity level from 24 karat to 18 karat or from 100% to 75%. I hope this helps
.999 = 24 carat = 99.9% .916 = 22 carat = 91.6% .750 = 18 carat = 75% .585 = 14 carat = 58% .375 = 9 carat = 37.5% A gold item listed as .575 is 57.5% pure gold. Its worked out thus: 24 carat gold is pure gold.. Therefore .575 or 57.5% = 13.8 carat gold. Its real gold - not gold plated.
