The oil life simply refers to the amount of "life" left in the oil currently in the crankcase of the engine. The oil life meter determines the life of the oil based on the RPMs of the crankshaft. As the life of the oil decreses, the oil's ability to lubricate, clean, and protect the engine compoments decreases as well. When the life of the oil gets low, change the engine oil and filter. Hope this help!
