It most simply measures the Oxygen in the Exhaust gasses and produces a voltage the computer reads to determine how the engine is running. A certain amount of Oxygen left means it is burning the fuel as efficiently as possible.
The chemical reasons and engineering is quite complex.
Exhaust
the oxegen sensor on most cars is usually located either in one of the exhaust manifolds or someware in the exhaust system
No all cars do not come equipped with an oxygen sensor. Car passed 1990 started using oxygen sensors and before they did run them , they change this part for today en comical environment.
1980 is when they started putting oxygen sensors in cars and back then they only put one in the car. 1996 is when the OBD II system came out and they started putting more sensors in the cars sometimes up to 4. There is usually one oxygen sensor on the exhaust manifold itself which measures the amount of unburned oxygen. Then there is one after the catalytic converter which measures the oxygen level after its cleaned by the catalytic converter.
Yes, there is a diagram of the oxygen sensor location of a Isuzu Trooper. This diagram can be found in the cars maintenance manual.
na we have flowting cars with gas cilinders in it
its opd2 all cars from 1996+ are opd2
Any vehicle with a gas engine that does not have a oxygen sensor. Usually before 1985. All but the last years of carburation equipped cars were "open loop"
it is vacuum, caused by the cars emission system
Engine,Emission Control System,EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve),Exhaust system,ECM (Engine Control Module),
there are two type of tss sensor, one is on auto transmissons, and one is a tyre safey system, both fitted to cars
cars over 20 years old
