It means that attractive people (EG: celebrities or the cool guy in class) are very often not people that will stand by you or keep their word or many other things.
A person of good character is generally a person who is all the good things that we don't notice, friend, support, trust worthy etc.
And that the quiet good traits are easy to over look.
