The polar bear would try to claw and bite the hippo down, but the hippo has thick skin and muscles for protection against teeth and claws. The hippo also has a larger jaw size and a larger size that could defeat the polar bear. If a polar bear fought with a hippo, the hippo would most likely get the polar bear at the end.
