These are service rating codes to tell you what year vehicle they can be used in. However both SE & SF are obsolete oils that you should not use in any vehicle. SE was a classification used from 1971-79 and SF was used from 1979-88.
Sae 10w/30 "se" or "sf" motor oil
For a manual transmission, just plain ol' motor oil; shop manual says SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 oil rated SE or SF...
10/30 4 stroke oil with ASI SE or SF cert. high detergent. weather upto 85 Fahrenheit 10/40 4 stroke oil with ASI SE or SF cert. high detergent weather upto 115 Fahrenheit
The book says either. I use SAE-10w40 ( four stroke engine )

SF can stand ussually stands for Small forward. It can stand for strong forward in certain areas. either way it is a forward.
The abbreviation SF stands for Sacrifice Flies.
check your oil if it is a wet clucth your oil has to be full and make sure you have motorcycle oil in it (10w40 sf se or sg) most auto parts stores carry it

In winter I use 10w40 SF or greater, summer 10w40 or 20w50 SF or greater.
