A single-stage supercharger has one impeller. Sometimes it has two gears and is called a 2-speed supercharger. When the aircraft has climbed until the throttle is at full and the manifold pressure beguins to drop, the pilot throttles back and changes the impeller to high gear (spins the impeller faster).
Another method is to run two impellers, one usually smaller than the other. The first one is the low-pressure impeller and it feeds the second one, called the high-pressure impeller. Sometimes the two impellers have 2-speeds (low and high).
When air is compressed, it gets hotter. If there is a cooler (heat exchanger)between the first and second impeller, it is called an intercooler because it is between the stages. If there is a cooler after the second stage, it is called an aftercooler because it is after the boost stage and before the induction system which routes the compressed air-gas mixture to the cylinders.
Do you mean a supercharger?
A supercharger kit is an assembly of engine parts used to increase the performance of your vehicles engine. Most supercharger kits are purchased by people who modify a lot of aspects of their vehicle.
it means it is equipped with a supercharger
Stages mean a single step, degree, or series
I think you mean the Supercharger belt? You cannot drive anywhere without your accessory belt... You can drive as long as you want without your Supercharger belt but be prepared for a substantial loss in power.
Supercharger - comics - was created in 1997.
A supercharger or blower is an air compressor that is designed to blow more air into an engine. By forcing more air into the engine, you will see an increase in horse power and torque. Here is a link that I personally think will give you a better understanding of what a supercharger is. http://www.superchargersonline.com/content.asp?ID=31
The most common and normal signs will be: * Oil leakage from the supercharger * Supercharger making a knocking noise * Lower or no boost pressure * Oil not present inside the supercharger
The C230 Kompressor already has a supercharger on it from the factory. The word Kompressor means Supercharger.
Procharger is a supercharger. It is a brand of centrifugal superchargers.
gm supercharger oil for the supercharger. any oil you prefer for the engine oil.
Depending on the supercharger, it will require a special blend of synthetic oil. This synthetic oil normally is located in the supercharger itself. Most superchargers will have a hex nut located on the front of the supercharger. This area is used to drain and fill up the supercharger oil. You cannot use just any synthetic oil, you will have to use "Supercharger Oil"
