Traction Control System
Have you tried pressing the cruise control button on the dash?
To the left of the steering wheel, below the dashboard is a button that says cruise control. Push that button in, the dash will illuminate the cruise control light. Then, as you reach the speed you want to cruise at, push the button on the steering wheel that says "set". When you want to turn cruise control off, simply tap the brake pedal and the cruise will go off.
on our 2001 there is a cruise control button on dash push it then use controls rite side of steering wheel.
When you get to speed you want to keep, press the button to activate cruise control. You will on the dash light showing that cruise control was activated. After that pull the cruise control joystick down to set the speed. If you pull toward you it resets the current speed.
On my 2000 accord the cruise control panel on the left of the steering wheel is out. But the dashboard light still works and so does the actual cruise control. As long as the cc still works its not a big deal.
Its not the button on the top!!! It's the button on the bottom the one on the top turns it off after it's on. to the left of the steering wheel, on the left side of the dash , there are two buttons; push the top one. the cruise control is then enabled, then press the set/ accel. button on the steering wheel.
My cruise control signal comes on the dash when I turn it on but when I set the speed button nothing happens. Why? The increase speed with the switch on the steering wheel does not work either. You need to hagve the system checked for trouble codes to know what the possible causes could be.
Hopefully it is the button and not the computer chip of the cruise control that sounds like it has "gone bad". First unplug the button and clean all contacts with contact cleaner. If this doesn't help purchase another button from a junk yard. Last resort have the dealer plug in the computer to find the problem.
Do you mean the light on the dash button (below the left air vent) or in the instrument cluster? My 2000 Accord's cruise control button light doesn't work - I'm assuming the bulb is burnt out. You may want to check your fuse box before you consider replacing the bulb but ultimately, that'd be my guess.
if the dash lights you mean the gauges wont light up easy fix its the scroll switch at the left near the cruise control button pop it out and replace it the scroll button controls the dash lights. good luck sr20de ftw.
We had the exact same thing happen on our 2003 ford escape. We took it to the repair shop and they discovered that the throttle cable from the actual cruise control unit inside the engine compartment had become disconnected from the throttle body. They put the cruise control's throttle cable back onto the throttle body and it worked just fine. No need to replace any parts, just labor to re-attach. Not sure how it came off, but since yours appears to have done the same; perhaps its just a design flaw. Thus, the cruise control is fully operational (which is why the light on your dash comes on when you engage the cruise control), but it has lost it's ability to actually apply throttle to the engine.
check the module connected to the throttle body that the wires and cable are connected to it correctly, this controls the cruise control. also check the brake lights so they are working proporly
