Well I can't talk for all ladies, I can only say why I like it. I like yaoi/shounen-ai because in my view the romantic endeavors in it is a lot more gratifying and the connections are more exciting since they have more difficulties. I'm a push over for romantic endeavors anime/manga so it's organic I like yaoi/shounen-ai depending on that
