The " check transaxle " warning light is located in the bottom of the tachometer
on the left . It is a explanation mark inside a round gear
No. 2000 Taurus and Sable are the only interchange.
The transmission fluid for the 2000-2004 Taurus is MERCON V.
It means there is a problem with the transmission or transaxle. May be low of fluid, need a fluid change, or some other problem. This can be very serious so do not ignore this warning light. Seek professional help.
You can view the 2000 Ford Taurus owners manual online at : www . motorcraft service . com ( no spaces ) Click on Owner Guides ( the warning lights and chimes section starts on page 8 )
If the warning light is on. Do not drive the car. It means that it is way to low and you will end up burning the clutch packs in the transmission. Have it towed to a dealer and have them fill it and see where the fluid is going.
yea it will work.
It will fit in the same year Taurus and Sable, nothing else.
According to the 2000 Mercury Sable owners manual : That's your check transaxle warning light ( located in the bottom / left of the tachometer ) A problem has been detected , shifting may be restricted ( if the warning light stays on , have your vehicle serviced immediately )
Sounds like the Hazard warning light. Check to see if they are on. Look in your owner's manual if you have one. If not, you need to get one. I have the same problem in my 2001. It is the Check Transaxle light. Most likely dealing with the transmission. Probably just low fluid.
