Tyre Wear indicators are present on the tyre sidewall. They help in knowing the tread depth of the tyre. They indicate the degree of tyre wear. If the tread depth is less than 1.6mm, then the tyres become unsafe to drive.
Tread wear indicator
uneven wear on tyre tread, bald spots on one side Steering vibration showing tyres are unbalanced.
Tread wear indicator
Quick answer - really a very small amount! More detailed answer is that it really depends on so many factors, such as tyre size, make, compound, suspension geometry, mass of the vehicle, surface type driven over (e.g. concrete, Glassphalt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glassphalt) , Assphalt etc etc.) But if you were after a very simple average of wear over the life span of the vehicle, you could calculate this. Example: Total Distance traveled that tyre lasts for (D) = 10,000km or 10,000,000m Rolling circumference of a 205/55/15 Tyre (C) = 1850 mm or 1.85m Number of Rotations (N) = D/C = 10,000,000m / 1.85m = 5,405,405.4 Revolutions Tyre tread depth inital say = 7mm End Tread Depth = 1.6mm (legal minimum) Tread wear = 5.4mm This means in one revolution 9.99e-7mm of rubber is removed from the tyre.
When they show excessive wear at tread or sides or when they show signs of cracking below tread or on sidewalls When they show excessive wear at tread or sides or when they show signs of cracking below tread or on sidewalls When they show excessive wear at tread or sides or when they show signs of cracking below tread or on sidewalls When they show excessive wear at tread or sides or when they show signs of cracking below tread or on sidewalls When they show excessive wear at tread or sides or when they show signs of cracking below tread or on sidewalls
Apart from being inflated with air, Tyres can also be inflated with nitrogen. Nitrogen inflated tyres are very common in the racing scene due to they do not have a huge amount of alteration in the tyre when facing different temperatures. If tyres are not inflated correctly then this can lead to unnecessary wear on the tyre tread. This can lead to the tyre being illegal and could lead to you getting fined and points on your license.
60% tread wear.
It is an indicator of tire tread wear.
It is the rubber marker within the tread to show tread depth. It is also known as a tread wear indicator
Yes, because the tire gets hot and this causes the tread to wear faster.
It really does not matter how many there are as there are several around the tire. When the tread wear indicators appear flush with the tread you have 1/16" tread left and should look to replace the tires very soon.
