As for the exact area where this happens, search for the "bowman's capsule" or "glomerulus". This is a bed of capillaries where the 'junk' is filtered out from the blood. The blood flowing in the glomerulus (which happens to be in the bowman's capsule) is under a large pressure, which forces the impurities out.

The urinary system filters out excess fluid and other substances and biochemical goo from your bloodstream. Some fluid will get reabsorbed by your body but for the most part, the excess fluid is expelled as urine (fluid waste). If your body didn't expel the urine (waste), then you'd get sick, which is another Good reason to drink plenty of water to flush your body toilet.
