"Opportunity is missed by most people because it comes dressed in overalls andlooks like work."
Edison apparently believed that people often missed the opportunity to advance in life. Because a new idea or method of work looked too much like, well, "work". Especially if it involved manual labor, and getting dirty or lifting things. Like people wearing overalls do. People like to stay comfortable, and often resist change, or hard work.
"I find out what the world needs. Then, I go ahead and invent it." "Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration." "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." "We don't know a millionth of one percent about anything."
