It also helps you wield weapons that could be required in your level (ex: if your attack level is 70, you could wield an abyssal whip( only for members)).
Oh yea, if your strenght level is higher than your attack level, you might have hard time defeating a monster or player even if your strenght is high. Attack actually could help you defeat a monster or player easily.

∙ 11y agoIt improves your melee combat. The following skills are relevant to melee combat:
- Strength: increases the maximum (and average) damage you cause your enemies.
- Attack: increases the chance of damaging your enemy (if your attack is low, you will fail more often).
- Defence: reduces the chance of your enemy damaging you.
- Prayer: gives you access to better prayers. Also, makes your prayers last longer.
- Constitution: increases your maximum health. At higher constitution, it will take an enemy longer to kill you.

Sorry, But you need 50 attack. Try Training a bit more. Attack Potions only grant attack, Just like strength potions, where you can hit higher.
