If you mean for stopping the alarm after it has gone off, locking the doors (either by press the lock button on the remote or putting the key in the driver's side door and turning to the lock position) accomplishes that.
A driver's side door will not lock on a 2002 Volkswagen Passat with the remote if the vehicle senses that the key is in the ignition. Try turning the key to auxiliary and then turning the key to off before exiting the vehicle.
