A "wiki" is a site that contains a wide resource of information, similar to an encyclopedia. This term was created with the creation of Wikipedia, a "online encyclopedia" that any person can edit to reflect changes in information or to correct typos.
Wiki is a collaboration concept where multiple people can work on the same document while online. The word "wiki" is borrowed from Hawaiian and means "very fast." Wiki sites are built around a community of dedicated people who can work together, or at least online. Everyone brings their own talents to the site. Some are good writers, some are good at editing, and others are good at managing things. The beauty of a wiki site is that you if anyone who is allowed to edit sees a problem, they can immediately fix it.
Of course, wiki sites have their downsides. Since they are rather democratic in nature, they can turn into an oligarchical structure, where when there are editing disputes, the in-crowd has more weight and gets more respect. Since they tend to be open to the public and anyone can edit, they are prone to vandalism. But with the right policies and enough good people, the vandalism can be kept to a minimum.
This site is a wiki site. If you find that the information in the community answers is incorrect, or you find vandalism, you can fix it. Or if you find unanswered questions, you can answer them, even if your grammar isn't the best, and someone else may come along and improve it.
