Have you tried washing the garment? Most wool clothing can be hand-washed in cool water and dried flat on a towel. You can use either a product like Woolite, or find a specialty yarn store in your area, or an online shop, that sells a wool wash like Eucalan. Some have lavender in them, which will reduce the wool smell and also repells moths.
