A knocking sound while your car is moving is probably coming from the engine. A certified mechanic will be able to perform diagnostic testing.

If the knocking is coming from the engine compartment, then it could be an entirely different problem.
A hole in the muffler would cause a knocking sound in your muffler. A loose exhaust pipe can also cause a knocking noise.
Try changing the top strut bearings they rust up and can give a knocking sound when you go from lock to lock,
