A young person's Lexile measure is his or her reading level. A book's Lexile measure is its difficulty level. So you can match readers to books really well with Lexile. You can also estimate how well a specific person will read a particular book, and know if maybe they might need some support from a parent or teacher.
A person's measure is a single number with an L after it, like 800L. That person's optimal reading range is from 100L below to 50L above the measure. So an 800L reader's sweet spot is books between 700L and 850L.
But of course you can read books below that range (they'll be easier) and above that range (they'll offer more of a challenge).
So 8th graders usually read between 805L and 1100L. This range is taken from actual test scores from actual students around the country. Also know that a quarter of the 8th-grade scores were below 805L and a quarter were above 1100L -- this is just a kind of average range.
The books that are usually used in 8th-grade classrooms range between 1000L and 1100L.
A child's Lexile measure indicates their reading ability and the complexity of the texts they can comprehend. It is a numerical value that matches their reading level to books and other reading materials. A higher Lexile measure indicates a higher reading ability and allows for more complex texts, while a lower measure suggests a lower reading ability and less complex texts.
If your Lexile score is 1230 that means you are reading at a college grade level. In sixth grade I took it and got a 1250. :) I'm in eighth grade now, and I have a score of 1350. I've never really read much, but you should be considered lucky because i've seen many eighth graders with scores lower than that.
"There are at a high school lexile score! so basically... it's great!" Well, I'm not sure about that(I'm in 6th grade and my Lexile is 1540), but it's above average for sure, so good job! :)
what do you mean exactlly because im in 8th grade too but i don't know what you mean

If you visit www.lexile.com, you will find a calculator and a very good explanation of what "lexile" scores mean. My child actually made the mistake of calling it "lextile" also.
It means a total eighth grade Hottie!
I assume you mean funbrain... The eighth grade code is "lazy8"
You passed 7th grade and all other grades below it an now are in 8th grade. (At least in America.) Cuz in US, you have kindergarten, then 1st-12th grade, and then college. :)
It means you really like an eighth grade guy even though you're in seventh grade, and you may get butterflies in your stomach if you think of him.
DEFINITLY, I'm in eighth grade and in sixth this wouldn't leave me alone and we've been dating since
The average Lexile score for 6th graders is typically around 925-1050. This score represents the reading level needed to comprehend texts commonly assigned in 6th grade. Keep in mind that individual students may vary in their reading abilities.
Somewhere around 100 pounds more or less. However some eighth grade girls might weigh as little as 85 pounds, and some as much as 120 pounds. If you weigh more it doesn't mean you're fat, and if you weigh less it doesn't mean you're weak. It all depends on how developed the girl is.
