You don't need to buy a dog (or cat). Local animal shelters will let you adopt a pet for free, or for a small fee that just helps them cover their costs (food and medicine for the animals). I got my two cats at Animal Care & Control, and they wanted $30 for one cat or dog, and $45 for two. There's also the Humane Society, the ASPCA or RSPCA, and Bide-A-Wee.
Contrary to popular belief, shelter animals are not dirty, disease-ridden strays. The majority of them had a home, but for whatever reason, were abandoned or given up by their owners. Some are strays, but the shelter screens all the animals for diseases. They're not going to send you home with a sick animal.
Actually, mixed-breed dogs and cats (mutts) are usually much healthier, and live much longer lives, than purebred animals. The key to strong, healthy offspring is a wide gene pool. Purebred animals are only allowed to mate with other purebreds of the same breed, which means the gene pool is very small. When a gene pool is too small, the animals become weak and sickly, with all sorts of expensive health problems.

I believe that the general consensus is that yes, cats and dogs are cool.
Why do we sweat??? Same reasons as dogs to keep cool.
dogs and cats
by panting...
You buy them, by saving up money you can buy dogs.
Dogs cool themselves by panting, since they have no sweat glands.

a cool per is a sheltie. Th also a cat is a pretty cool pet. But dogs are funner.
Dogs keep their body cool by panting and sticking their tounge out. When dogs pant they emit all this air out of their body.
