I would say Yamaha is way better. Pearl drums tend to crack easy. My personal opinion is gretch or Ludwig drums. They have a great ring to em. I love the snares and you can pick ludwigs up for a fair price.

daiji na tama (大事な玉) But be careful. Tama has many meanings, the most common of which is a ball. It may not necessarily be complimentary if you said "daiji na tama" about a person. It might be better to use daiamondo (diamond) or shinjuu (pearl).
