Hedgehogs curl up in a ball when threatened, and few animals can get past this defense. However, the hedgehog does have a few natural predators, including wild dogs, wild cats, Birds of Prey, badgers, and other various animals. The quills cannot protect them from everything, and if the predators are hungry enough they will keep trying to eat the hedgehog.
