A degree in journalism, communications, media, film or English composition.
you need to know how to rhyme....
5-7 years
Yes. You need to be good at math in everything you do. If you want to be a movie director sometimes when you cut out a scene you have to do quick math to see how long the movie will be. Sorry, I wasn't happy hearing that either but its true!
MOST of the time you need a BA or a BFA and many also have a MFA (which is equivalent to a PhD)
To be a true writer you can choose to get degrees and go to college and all of that or you can be an ordinary person who actually doesn't have a college education. It is easier to be a writer with a lot of education, but it's nor really required. Pretty much anyone can write a book, but not everyone can write a good book.
definitely English in every form.
There are no requirements to be a poet... or any sort of creative writer....
You can get in touch with the production agency that is listed in the rolling credits of the movies that a particular director worked with in the past. Alot of them have their own. You also can get in touch with a well known agent and have them seek the director out for you. You will need an agent anyway to negotiate a deal, directors usually dont work directly with a writer until after they have established themselves. I dont know what type of movies you would like to get involved in but be sure to narrow the field down to the type of movie it is to find the proper director.
first learn to write and spell, then ask again
You need talent. Having some musical training would be very helpful.
Movie writers can be virtually any age. Writers for movies need to be hired or write something that gets made into a movie.
You need to send in a headshot to the casting director, but there is no one as casting director at this time for the movie. YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR FLIGHT TO LA IF YOU GET A CALL BACK AND BE THERE WITH ONE OR TWO DAY NOTICE.
