What educational background should you get to become an ethical hacker?

Networking is a big help for this course aswell as computer science and architecture (how all the parts work together, processor, memory, OS etc...) you will want a good understanding off Linux and some programming.
At bare minimum you want to have your N+ and the A+ and a year or two of experience to back it up. The programming, just learn a bit of C++ or something, 6 months will have that. And then learn abit of Linux. Replace your windows machine with Linux and use that for a few months. After you have all that experience and knowledge you will be well equiped for the course. Alot of people go into it and then don't fully understand whats going on because they didnt have enough background knowledge. Then when they fail the test they probably wont sit it again. 23 people from the place I used to work (they were all computer technicians) all took that course and 9 of them failed it. From what I remember most failed because of their lack of experience with Linux.
