World War One left an everlasting impact yet to come for many other wars, revolutions and events. Following not to long after the war women were soon gaining more rights; such as voting and sexual equality. The male dominance lost its flavor and patriarchal ideas weren't so strong anymore. The United States entered the war forever more breaking the idea of wanting to be neutral and isolated. Russia withdrew from the war allowing them to deal with internal conflicts. Also, much more down the line it caused the Cold War and World War 2.
World War I set the stage for World War 2.
The war cost millions of lives and billions of dollars. It reinforced the American strain of isolationism which contributed to the Great Depression. War reparations and the harsh peace settlement on Germany made conditions ripe to bring Hitler and the Nazis to power, and the war was the straw that broke the back of the Russian monarchy which allowed the Russian Communists to take power.
It brought Japan up to Great Power status, which fueled their ambitions in the Far East.
Some of the affects of WWI were that many of the countries were in major debt and owed alot of money.
The men who returned after that war had no career because thay had joined at such a early stage in their lives.
Not much really except mass chaos and made Germany pay reparations, because the treaty of Versailles blamed them for everything. The only thing that came out of WW1, was the beginning fight of WW2.
WWI affected many people and killed millions

Qualitative improvements also followed, as creative American business and political leaders discovered new and better ways to make old products; they also discovered new products which contributed to victory during the war and to a more diverse (and profitable) economy once the war ended.
