no. Clay is almost the worst plantgrowingtype of soil because it has almost no nutrients in it. that's why it is popular for shaping, or making pottery. so if i were you, i would go for using dirt for plants. unless it's cacti that you're growing, then use sand. but other than that, try not to use clay forgrowingplants.

Some plants are adapted to live in clay soil, but for most plants, heavy clay soil doesn't drain well enough for them to thrive. Poor drainage means their roots don't get enough oxygen, so pathogenic bacteria and fungi often attack the roots of plants grown in clay soil.

If you increase the porosity of clay soil by adding coarse sand, perlite, small horticultural lava rock, or fine gravel, along with compost or other organic matter, you can create a rich clay loam that most plants grow well in. WARNING: If you add sand or gravel to clay soil without adding extra organic matter, you get cement.
