does the fan work? is the system charged with the refrigerant?
The system will need to be drained of Freon and pressure. Then the lines can be removed and the compressor replaced. Change all o rings during the procedure.
Only one moving part in the AC system and that is the compressor. The compressor must be going bad. Recommend having it replaced before it fills the system with metal trash which will cost you much more to clean and repair.
The compressor.
It can damage the compressor.
You should not put any oil in a Ford air conditioning compressor. The air conditioning compressor runs on Freon. The system should take about one pound of Freon.
You may have to replace the entire compressor. Either way, it'll involve disconnecting and dismounting the compressor, and you legally cannot do this on your own. It must be an ASE certified tech who does this, and the shop which does the work must be EPA certified and have approved equipment, as they must evacuate refrigerant out of the system and prevent its release into the air. When the air conditioning system is opened up like that, the receiver-drier (if it's a thermal expansion valve system) or accumulator (if it's a fixed orifice tube system) will also have to be replaced.
that depends on what is wrong have you checked the compressor?
If the compressor will not come on at all, it is not because the system needs charging. Check for a blown fuse, disconnected wire at the compressor, or a defective compressor clutch.
You will need to remove all of the Freon from your air conditioning system. Remove the air conditioning hoses. Remove the compressor belt. Remove the compressor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new air conditioner compressor.
The compressor need to be replaced along with the dryer and offrice tube or expansion valve. The compressor has internal damage and came apart pumping freon and metal through the hoses. The whole system need to be flushed to remove contaminates.
On the line right at the compressor.
If the compressor is not engauged, it is ok.If the compressor is not engauged, it is ok.
