The Hellenistic period ended with the conquest of the last Hellenistic kingdom, Ptolemaic Egypt, but the Romans in 30 BCE. Hellenistic culture lived un until Christian domination when all those who refused to abandon their old traditions were slaughtered by Christians in genocidal acts unseen until that day.
