The 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 typically comes with a 2.4L inline-four engine (LD9). Engines from 1995 to 2002 Cavalier models with similar specifications can fit, including the 2.4L engine from other GM vehicles like the Pontiac Sunfire and Oldsmobile Alero of the same era. It's crucial to ensure compatibility with the engine's electronics and mounting points during installation.
