There are some different opinions about this. A lot depends on the climate. For hotter climates, use thicker engine oil. An all-around oil would be for example 15 W 40, or 10 W 40, specially designed for motorcycles and without additives that damage the wet clutch. Oil manufacturers publish information about which of their products are suitable for motorcycles and which for cars and other purposes. Buy a good brand of oil, as the engine oil is a very important thing that protects the engine as well as has a part in cooling it.
