1. freeze plug in top of head under valve cover leaking.
2. head gasket leaking.
3. head warped causing head gasket to leak.
4. pin hole in cylinder wall ( caused by water hammer if pure water has been used in
cooling system for extended period.)
No, but your crankcase should be vented anyway. If your getting coolant in the crankcase it is getting in from a bad head gasket or cracked head or bad intake manifold gaskets. If you don't fix it soon your engine will be toast.
A small amount of water can be condensation, however, if it smells like or contains anti-freeze, you have a major engine problem - possibly a cracked engine block which allows the coolant to seep into the crankcase. It could also be a blown "head gasket" which is a less serious problem, but still a large job to fix. This too could allow coolant to leak into the crankcase in some cars.
Bad head gasket or cracked head. If you continue to drive it you will cause serious damage to internal engine parts.
Diesel fuel or coolant entering the crankcase. Either will cause serious engine damage. Stop driving the truck until you can have this repaired.
You have serious problems in your engine - something may be broken, or possibly something else caused that, like a blown head gasket leaking coolant into your crankcase, which can cause real thick clouding. Take it to an expert engine mechanic ASAP.
Water will evaporate eventually. Also water will cause rust to the inside of the cooling system and cause overheating problems eventually.
Coolant is used to keep an engine in a vehicle at a temperature safe for operation. If no coolant is in the reservoir, an engine will not start.
Diesel Grand Vitara engine problems can be caused by low-quality oil or coolant leaks. Fouled spark plugs can also cause the problems.
You may have a blown head gasket. Have it pressure tested. The head gasket keeps the cylinder head sealed from the water that circulates through the heads to keep them cool. If the gasket gets a hole in it, then there is a gap in which oil can get into your coolant. Make sure what you are seeing is OIL in the coolant first.
1.) Low Coolant, 2.) Bad Coolant, 3.) Bad Thermostat, 4.) Worn Water Pump, 5.) Lead-Foot Problems
If coolant leaks onto an engine it will cause no damage unless it leaks onto the alternator or into a wire harness connector of some sort. It is best to clean up leaked coolant as much as possible. It will smell a little when the motor is started. Leaked coolant on the ground is a danger to animals and children as it has a sweet smell but is very toxic.
Yes, If to much leaks out this will cause the engine to over heat, smoke and or stall hence the name engine COOLant :)
