The Petrol V8 was used from the 1970 Range Rover until the 2002 Range Rover and in all Discoverys until the end of series 2 (approx 2005), these all have the same bell housing for the V8. The same engines were used in Rover 3500 sedans and some other cars. The Leyland 4.4 liter V8 is also the same bell housing and was used in the P76 and the Terrier truck.
Conversion adapters are available to fit Ford V8 and six, LS1, Chev V8 and Holden V8.
The Diesel is different, it has a different bell housing and input shaft but it can be modified.
It is inter-laid in the rear side windows. ( non serviceable)
You can find a wiring diagram for speakers in a 1997 Land Rover Discovery 300TDI at the auto parts store. The diagram can be found in a do-it-yourself repair manual.
The easy way is to disconnect the front or rear prop shaft.

No it will not even get close. Chevy REDESIGNED the engines and transmission in late 1999.
The 1997 Land Rover Discovery shock and Sobers are held in place with a retaining bolt on each end of the shock. Remove the retaining bolts and the shock will come off. Reverse the process to install the new shock absorbers.
Begin by removing the rear engine cover from your 1997 Land Rover Discovery. Remove the crankshaft sensor wiring harness. Remove the crankshaft sensor retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new crankshaft sensor.
