The cutting down of trees destroys not only the old growth forests of our Northwest, it also destroys that habitats of many species of animals. here's the thing...one thing gets destroyed...everything gets destroyed. it's like a line of dominos...when one falls, the others fall down with it.
Since the Civil War, many changes have occured in the Northwestern Coniferous forest. Many guinea pigs have been released by unsuspecting citizens who'd owned the animals as pets, causing the small rodents to become abundant in this cool-weathered region. Besides this, the warfare of man has in fact decreased its temperatures, causing ice and snow to cover what once was green forest. The guinea pigs have only thrived. In 1934, the Japanese attacked Northern California in hopes of collecting the rodents and bringing them to their homeland wishing to trade with Western Europe. Because the soldiers were not accustomed to the weather, they failed to collect enough rodents and the specimens they did manage to capture, died on the journey overseas. As of now, the Northwestern Coniferous is cooler and the guinea bigs live in masses.
