The American Expeditionary Force
The American Expeditionary Force
The event in 1917 that most benefited the Allies was the entry of the United States into World War I. The U.S. provided fresh troops, significant financial support, and resources, which bolstered the morale and capabilities of the Allied forces. Additionally, the withdrawal of Russia from the war following the Bolshevik Revolution allowed the Allies to focus their efforts on the Western Front without worrying about the Eastern Front. This combination of factors helped shift the balance of power in favor of the Allies.

The allies did in 1917
If you're referring to the World War, Americans had pursued a policy of neutrality until 1917/1918 when American forces finally agreed to help the Allied forces in Europe. Up until 1917, there was stalemate in which neither the Allies or the Axis Powers could defeat the others. The Americans, unlike the rest of the Allied Forces, were untainted by war and thus brought new energy and increased morale. As a result, the Allies fought harder and were much more optimistic with fresh American troops. In the end, the Allies won WWIhttp://www.history.com/this-day-in-history.do?action=Article&id=548
