On December 16,1773,members of the Sons of Liberty went onto three ships filled with tea. They dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor. This event is called the Boston Tea Party.

In a breif explanation, the Boston Port Act punished all of Boston for the Boston Tea Party, thus it forced Boston to seek aid from the other colonies. Because of this is helped strengthen colonial unity and was another factor in sparking the upcoming revolution.
Two of the things that happened was the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre. Both of these things propelled the people of the country into war.
The Boston Massacre: was an incident involving the deaths of five civilians at the hands of British troops on 5 march 1770. E ffect: the legal aftermath helped spark the rebellion in some of the British colonies in America.
The British were mainly taxing the Massachusetts colony. They also closed down Boston Harbor. Then, no ships could go in or out. The other colonies helped the colony by sending them products. Taxation as a common complaint led to communication and cooperation among the separate colonies.

Several events did much to bring the American colonies close to war with Britain. However, the two events which did the most to bring about the War of Independence were the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre. Enraged over the taxes, Parliament had levied on the colonies, the Sons of Liberty staged the Boston Tea Party. In retaliation, the governor requested British troops to restore order, and refused to remove them until restitution for the tea had been made. Tensions flared, the situation escalated, and one of the soldiers fired into a crowd of enraged citizens, killing several.
