Best Answer

Oxygen will bubble right out of water with very little of it dissolving (unless there's a lot of pressure involved) because diatomic oxygen is non-polar and water is polar.

It oxygen more soluble in fresh water or in salt water?

Oxygen is more soluble in fresh water.

Why oxygen soluble in water?

Oxygen is only very slightly soluble in water. Water in contact with air has about 8 mg of O2/L dissolved in it. So I would not agree that oxygen is particularly soluble in water at all.

Is oxygen soluble in seawater?

Fish and marine life are able to live because oxygen is soluble in water, including salt water/seawater.

Is oxygen more soluble in water than Carbon Dioxide?

Carbon dioxide is more soluble in water.

Is oxygen soluble water?

Oxygen is soluble in water to an extent. Fresh water will hold about 6 milligrams of oxygen per liter of water. It may not sound like much, but nearly all aquatic animal life depends on it.

Do you have information on oxygen gas?

Type your answer here... AS 4% oxygen is soluble in water.

Why is oxygen not soluble?

but it is soluble. it dissolves quite easily in water - otherwise fish could not live.

Which is more soluble in water oxygen or carbon dioxide?

Carbon dioxide compared to oxygen is more soluble in water. CO2 reacts with water to form carbonic acid, H2CO3. This explains its high solubility in water.

Why is nonpolar oxygen soluble in polar water?

Because nonpolar oxygen is has a much greater electronegativity and oxygen and water go well.

Is oxygen insoluble in water?

Oxygen is soluble in water (dissolves in water). This is the basis for marine animals who breathe through gills and similar structures to get their oxygen.

Why are organic molecules that contain oxygen atoms more soluble in water?

Water is a polar molecule, polar molecules are more soluble in other polar molecules. Oxygen helps make organic molecules more polar, and therefore more soluble in water.

Is hydrogen more soluble in water than oxygen?

YES. Oxygen is more water soluble than the Hydrogen, becoz as we see that the aquatic life is sustained only due to the presence of the oxygen in the water.
