At first many soldiers were patriotic, but after months in trench warfare they became depression, angry, and with a feeling of hopelessness. Almost all the soldiers were scarred. Many soldiers went mad with mental breakdowns. Others were gassed and had a hard time breathing. Wounded soldiers feared for their life and screamed and were terrified. Prisoners were experience other fears, like scarred, hopelessness. Sailors went down with their ships, some were trapped in the ships, others floated on the sea. It really mattered where you were fighting. Whether you were winning or losing. I would say that the soldiers experience every mood or feeling that you could ever imagine.
