Obesity is a result of eating more food than necessary for supporting the health of your body. It can also be a result of eating the wrong kinds of foods.

You body needs a certain amount of food of various kinds to grow and maintain itself. If you eat more, it is converted to fat and stored in fat cells in your body so that it can used used later when necessary. if you are on a reduced food diet or exercising the stored fat is used for energy, otherwise the amount of fat increases and you become obese.

Some people are genetically predisposed to storing fat in their body and may become obese even when they are not overeating.
