In the book 'Catcher in the Rye' by J.D.Salinger, Stradlater asks Holden Caulfield to write his English homework which was a describtive essey. Stradlater was going to a date and his roommate Holden was realy good at english. Eventually, though he doesn't wants to, Holden agrees and writes about his dead younger brother Allie Baseball mitt. Left-handed fielder's mitt. Allie had poems written all around it in green ink.

Also he is showing as phony person who to the same time is so friendly not because he wants but because he wants to get something from people. At least he is so vain, we can observe this in the care he takes about his appearance.
He was basically wasting all of his money because he didn't care. After getting kicked out of Pencey Prep Holden could honestly care less what he did with the money. In fact he said he wished he had given them more. However he needed the money for his date with Sally that same night. He was feeling compassionate. Also the Nuns didn't ask him if he was catholic; it bothers him when people ask him his religion. Especially cathlics
Stradlater went on a date with Jane and Holden got jealous at the thought of what they possibly could have done! Holden also asked Stradlater to ask Jane if she still keeps her kings in the back row, and Holden doesn't think he did.
